Dear Mom and Dad,
　　The first semester of the semester is almost gone and we are busyingpreparing for the coming mid-term examination.I’m sure I’ll do well because I’vestudied hard and have gained a good command of the subjects I have studied.Butthe biggest gain is that I’ve learned to organize myself and my studies.When Iwas in middle school,I was not a disciplined student; I did what I liked bestand did not pay much attention to my lessons until exam time,because passingthe exam wasn’t such a big deal for me then.But now things are different.Whatthe teachers talk about in class is not so easy to grasp unless you have readthe assignments very carefully beforehand.So I have learned to plan my timeand get everything done according to schedule.I dare say I’m as good as any ofmy classmates except in one area—English.
　　English has been giving me the hardship time.From the beginning ,our English teacher explains everything in English.As we didn’t have muchlistening practice in high school,I had to and still have difficultyunderstanding her lectures.What’s more,she asks us to recite the texts.As youwell know,I’m not good at memorizing things.So now I devote almost all myfree time to learn English.But don’t worry,my teacher says I’m makingprogress,and in no time I’ll be able to catch up with the others.
