A: hey buddy, do you know who is this guy in the EMS advertisement?
B: yeah sure! he was famous in China you don't know? almost all the people in our country knows him, even lots of foreigners know his name too!
A: oh who is him then?
B: He is Liu Xiang, our famous 110 metres hurdle athlete ever won the gold medal in 2004 Athens Olympics. but he is no longer appeal to a lot of people in China now. including me.
A: why? what happened?
B: this guy is said to focus on showing himself on advertisement and commercial events in order to make more money rather than keeping on practising hard in his specilty. so his competing status was not very good while the important 2008 Olympics show was held in Beijing our capital. to make it worse, this guy later was reported to have a wound in his leg however he/his side didn't announce this to public at all at that time before the big event.
A: oh really? so he tried to hide the bad news and challenge his limit in the competition? this is good Olympic spirit!
B: Not at all! this was the worst thing that led to the unhappy feeling in most of the people! he surrendered before the wistle was blown! right before the start of the game! and everyone was feeling being cheated! and he should either have been away earlier for the wound or have tried all his best in the competition even by walking I am sure people/his fans would applause for him. but he didn't! he just retreated!
A: oh too bad then. but anyway he contributed to China ever.
B: yes this is his achievement no one can deny. however now he has to be kicked out from the many big advertisement contract he had with the many large companies. he deserves this. he is a bad example to the young athletes in China.
