Questions on Homer's >1) How are women protrayed in the first five "books" of
1.
women in Roman times are considered to have little status and dominated by the man at the time.it is therefore noticeable, that Homer's Odyssey has presented us with a different perspective of what we known before.women in the odyssey is not merely presented as meek, humble and therefore blended into the background, but strong, powerful and wise women.
For instance,we see the image of the goddess(Athena) and seductress, charming and demanding.we see the Helen,Arete, and Nausicaa who are clever mortals.
the women that have been portrayed in the Odyssey could be considered as successful folk characters but more importantly, the most prominant femaine examples throughtout the Greek and Roman period.

...this question is a bit hard to answer...
as roman and greek histories and myths have suggested,we can deduce that it is always the goddess and gods dominate the highest level of social level. They could be totally unpredictable-sometimes they act as judges, sometimes they act as protector of humankind, they befriended with humans while at another time they would fought among themselves most unreasonably.yet, they are undoubtly the most superior being in They Odyssey, manipulating with every single one's fortune and fate.
the second in the kind,in my consideration, are the seductresses, and wizards who possess power yet with no equal to the power of the immortals.but they do have enough power to turn men into pigs...
the third rank could be the famous heroes such as Odessus,Agamenon and etc.they are well reowned and are undoubtly the leader of any organisation.their position often helps them acquire wealth, power and status easily.it is also noteworthy, that most of them are favoured by the immortals or have direct relationship with the immortals.
fourth rank are mortal men who can be easily manipulated by all of the above.
mortal women are the next rank, they are housewives yet higher in position compare to servants and slaves(unlike the Mideval time).in general, they do not possess lot of power, but even they do,it is limited.
the last stage of the social pyramid are the servants and slaves who are sometimes "greedy" and "short-sighted".
they served as jungluers who are laughed at and easily been sold and exchanged.
btw, there could be some typos in the answer...
