Yao Ming, a famous Chinese basketball player, announced his retire on July 20, only because of the injuries again and again. As a student with great craziness about basketball, there is no doubt that I was shocked by it deeply as all the people were looking forward to him to lead the Chinese basketball team in the London Olympic Games. During his career, he had nearly 20 injuries and even 7 of them were fracture(骨折). Yao’s experience was a tragedy(悲剧), but in my opinion, it showed the incomplete management of athletes of the government. For example, many of the NBA stars rest during the off season(休赛期)while Yao was playing for the Asian cups and so on and this became the most important reason of his tragedy. So if we don’t want such events happen again, we should care more about the health of athletes and the government must also complete the laws of the management of athletes. The athletes won’t get honor of our country unless they are healthy, as the old saying goes, “Happy is he who owns nothing”. (要想活得痛快,身上不能背债)Let’s make every effort to care more for our athletes!
