OLYMPIC GAMES IN MY HEART
Good afternoon ,ladies and gentlemen ,
First of all ,I am very happy to be here to share some of my thoughts about the Olympic Games .As we all know that ,every four years athletes from all over the world take part in the Olympic Games .The Olympic motto is “Swifter ,Higher ,and Stronger.”
During the 2004 Athens Olympic Games ,the Chinese team got the second place with 32 gold medals. We are very proud of that. And hosting the Olympic Games is another rich prize for our country. The Olympic Games in 2008 is awarded to the city of Beijing, with the motto“New Beijng,Great Olympics”.
A question came out in my mind,” What will the Beijing Olympic Games bring China ”
I think hosting the Olympic Games will have a positive effect on the Chinese economy. The reasons are as follows:
First,China will become the spotlight of the world .There will be millions of foreigners coming to China to see the Olympic Games, these foreigners will consume during their stay in China, for example, they will eat Chinese food in restaurants, live in hotels or even travel around the whole country.
Second, the Olympic Games create more job-opportunities for local workers .For there will be more buildings, roads, and subway stations to be set up.
Third, the past data show that most countries' economies have improved after hosting the Olympic Games.
In 2005,the slogan for the Beijing Olympic Games came out, which is,“One world,One dream”.And I think it is an embodiment of the wisdom of hundreds of thousands of people. And it expresses the firm belief of our great nation, with a long history of more than 5000 years and on her way towards modernization, which is committed to peaceful development, people's happiness and harmonious society.
At last,I sincerely hope, from the bottom of my heart, the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 will be successful.
Thank you ladies and gentlemen.

The Fuwa (Chinese: 福娃; Pinyin: Fúwá) were unveiled as the mascots of the games by the National Society of Chinese Classic Literature Studies on November 11, 2005, at an event marking the 1000th day before the opening of the games.
The Fuwa consist of five members according to the five elements of Chinese philosophy: Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, and Nini. The five mascots incorporate fish, giant panda, fire, Tibetan antelope, and swallow designs respectively, and each also represents one of the five Olympic Rings. When the first syllable of each of the five names are said together, the result sounds like the phrase 北京欢迎你 (Běijīng huānyíng nǐ) which means "Beijing welcomes you".[7]
Tickets
The Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee publicized in early August 2006 that it will sell over 7 million tickets for various sporting events and ceremonies to the general public.[8] The chief of the committee expressed her hopes that all the Chinese have a chance to come to the games. The committee has, therefore, set the admission prices for events "very, very cheap" to encourage the Chinese to become involved in the Olympics.
On 2007-04-14, tickets to the general public went on sale through the Beijing Organizing Committee for domestic tickets (which will account for 75% of the sales) and through each nation's NOC for overseas ticket sales
On June 26, 2005, The Beijing Olympic Committee announced that the slogan for the 2008 Olympics will be "One World, One Dream." (Simplified Chinese: 同一个世界 同一个梦想; Traditional Chinese: 同一个世界 同一个梦想; Pinyin: Tóng Yíge Shìjiè Tóng Yíge Mèngxiǎng
